....on cross country and road. At the sharpest end, Chris W had a great month; 3rd in the Middlesex Championships; 4th in the fierce Metropolitan League then a very exciting 8th in the loaded Southern  Cross Country Championships, equalling the Serpentine’ club record’ in this event. Also fine racing by Will G, part of the Serpentine team picking up Silver in Middlesex and a coveted Bronze in the Southerns.  Breakthrough result at the Middlesex was in fact by Nick I, briefly checking in from his new post in SIngapore, placing 13th amidst guys with 31 mins 10k form; another one with a spring marathon on the radar.

Women’s highlight was Izzy C 2nd in the same Met League Cross event as she builds towards spring road races.

At year end, 44 year old Martin G edged his 10k PB further forward with 33.03 in Telford, while over in Paris Jennifer E moved her PB onwards with 37.47 a week before running well for her Scottish regional team in the Stirling Cross Country International. New coachee Cara H showed that there is more to come with her PB 67 minutes at the undulating St Albans 10 mile race. While, switching her racing and training between Chelsea and Madeira, which is a great combo if you can work it, Sonia de M has taken almost two minutes off her 5k time in recent weeks, down to a few ticks past 21 minutes.
