A mixture of distance highlights in recent weeks. A major highlight came at Leeds Abbey Dash 10k where Will Green ran a startling 30.26 to place in the Top 3 All Time UK for his age (44) and older. Chasing him with another big PB of 30.53 was Martin O,C. A week earlier at a very similar level a returning Chris W won the Sri Chinmoy 10k in London in a solid 31.12 chased home by another big PB by Paul P in 31.30. Seven days later for Paul it was same again at the Valencia Half in 68.27. Fine Half marathon PB also for Becky M in Bruges with 83.17.
Moving to marathons, an array of recent PBs, notably Megan in Chicago with a 16 minute advance to 3.21, whilst 50- plus Gloria B advanced 14 minutes to 3.56 in the same race, with 5 other coachees also improving their previous bests in Illinois. Further progress by several across the city marathons, including 7 PBs in Abingdon, Dublin, Amsterdam, New York and Porto, with Jeremy A taking his best down to a very fine 2.40.02 in Frankfurt, at 44 years of age. Super runs also by debutants Gavriel and Christian in New York, their respective 3.27 and 3.34 showing huge progress (and a bit less waist) from where they were at a year ago. Outstanding performance via another massive effort by now-45 Martin Green, 3rd overall in the classic Snowdon/Eryri marathon in his fastest time on the beastly mountainous course, his 2.41 probably worth right on 2.30 in normal terrain, using the normal conversion for this course.
